2.6 Installer
This sections allows to configure some options which affects X-Arc's
behaviour. Available gadgets are:
- Installer support: you can turn installer support on or off. For instance
if an archive is sent to X-Arc for de-archiving, and it has a installer script, X-Arc
will automatically try to execute this script if installer support is enabled.
- Installer command: select the location of the installer command, needed
to install archives. This is normally located in the 'c' drawer on your workbench
partition. You can also use an intaller replacement, such as SavageInstaller.
- Create temporary directory in: allows you to select the location where
you want temporary installer based files to be extracted. If you have a large archive,
say 10MB, and you only have 12MB of RAM, using ram: (or similar) as the temporary
installer dearchive location may be unsuitable.
- Install on open: will try to install an archive when it is opened. ie.
open and locate an archive, load into X-Arc and, if there is an installer script
present, X-Arc will try to install, if this open is ticked on. If you have ticked
'install on open' off, you will have to manually press the 'install' icon on the
X-Arc icon bar in order to install the archive. The default is off.
- Delete temporary directory after installation: X-Arc creates a temporary
drawer to locate the files it needs to extract, before it can install the archive. Tick
this option to on if you want X-Arc to delete these temporary files, after
installation. The default is on.
